Effective staff induction training will benefit an organisation in many ways. New employees' first impressions will stay with them and influence their behaviour and attitudes for the duration of their employment. A full and comprehensive induction which welcomes the individual, familiarises them with the organisation and encourages involvement has been shown to have a positive and long term impact.
As a minimum staff induction, training on the first day should include greeting new employees when they arrive followed by an introduction to their new colleagues. An orientation tour to include emergency exits, toilets and other relevant areas can then lead to their work place where they can access WelcomeStart and learn about their new organisation in detail.
WelcomeStart can include information on any training opportunities which may be available. These may be presented as short overviews of available courses or direct links to the training department, the library and booking system. |
